Down Under, the New Direction for Keywording

New Zealanders split the atom, conquered Mt Everest, won the America’s Cup and have been awarded Oscars for movies such as Lord of the Rings and King Kong.  At Keedup we’re using the same sort of technological ingenuity and can-do attitude to keyword for international image and video companies.

Keedup has it’s office in Auckland, where it started life as part of a successful image syndication business.  Getting into keywording was a constructive response to the poor standard of keywording seen in pictures sent by international image partners.  That poor standard made it difficult to make sales.  It was also appreciated that the fast-moving nature of news meant that keywording had to be incorporated into client’s workflow.

In response to these challenges, Keedup developed a 24/7 business, with vocabularies, keywording and metadata systems, and Piksee workflow software, designed specifically to handle image flow from news and celebrity agencies.

Keedup’s list of clients, past and present reads like a Who’s Who of the media industry, including Splash News,  Sony Entertainment, NBC Universal, Future Publishing,The Canadian Press Association, Greenpeace, Erickson Stock, the Toronto Star and WOW Stock Footage.

Building Lasting Relationships

Our philosophy of business is to build a lasting relationship with clients, rather than operate as a sort of keywording vending machine.  We’ll take the time to understand your business and help integrate our keywording into your systems, and meet your needs.  We do not keyword everyone’s images the same, and we pride ourselves on getting important details where that is needed, rather than the generalised spam-style keywording that is all too often the norm elsewhere in the industry.
