You must have lots of clients, how do I know my production won’t be forgotten about or left at the back of the queue?

Our Piksee workflow software insures image sets are processed as they arrive, not according to a system of favouritism.  We also assign keyworders to each client so each is looked after continuously.

What is the point of outsourcing keywording, our staff already do that?

Outsourced keywording means better cost control.  Many companies kid themselves it is cheaper to keyword in-house, but forget about the hidden costs of recruitment, supervision, and training.  Just as importantly, in-house keyworders are usually not specialists, and because they only work in-house are not in touch with best practice in the industry as a whole.  This means keywording tends to be slower, less accurate and less consistent than it should be.

We have very specific requirements, can you cater for these or do you keyword every company the same?

We already our own keywording system, can you produce the same sort of keywording?

We have experience in working with existing in-house keywording software, and adapting clients’ systems to be more efficient and/or working in with our super-fast keywording system, for optimum results.

How can you maintain consistent keywording if different people do the work over a 24 hour period?

Our team of trained specialists work in a single office and use templates, electronic vocabularies and keywording rules to stay on track.  This enables us to enforce consistency and quality, which is regularly checked by our supervisors.

Do you only add keywords, what about captions and other metadata?

Keedup staff have extensive experience in fixing headlines, writing captions and adding extra metadata fields.

Do you provide US and UK spellings and terms?

Our electronic vocabularies include alternative US/UK spellings and terminology.  We can also integrate terms from other countries such as Canada, Australia and South Africa.

How fast can you keyword our images?

Keedup keywords images within minutes with its Priority Image Flow service.  The nominated turnaround time is a matter to be worked out, with lower prices available for longer turnaround.

Can you keyword our video?

We keyword video as well as images, and have extensive experience with different video formats.  Videos can be keyworded on your system or sent to Keedup for processing.

We’ve heard you insure your keywording, what does that mean?

Keywording and captioning carries a certain level of risk, particularly of defaming a celebrity.  We carry millions of dollars of data insurance to cover such an eventuality or any other problems which might arrive working with clients’ software and systems.

Do you use outworkers or keyworders in India or China to do the actual keywording?

Our keyworders have English as their first language, and live and work in Auckland, New Zealand.  We do not use outworkers due to concerns about the quality and consistency of their work.

Adding fashion terms and designer labels is so important these days, do you include such words in your keywording?

We routinely include fashion terms in celebrity keywording and designer labels for items we recognise.  For in-depth fashion keywording, we offer a special service called Fashion Hawk.

We produce so many images and worry how we can ever afford to keyword them all, do you have any ways to make keywording affordable for us?

There are a series of options to keep keywording costs down, such as simplifying vocabularies, cluster keywording of images sets or keywording only the best examples in an image set.  We also offer a special A-List keywording service where you nominate which celebrities’ images you’d like us to keyword, and you pay by the celebrity not the image.
