What The Frock?
Fashion Hawk is a service created in response to the changing needs of the picture industry, and numerous requests from photo agencies for more extensive fashion-related keywording. It provides keywording identifying designer labels worn by the stars on the red carpet and on the street. Such keywords can help boost sales by making images easier to find for a series of purposes and revenue streams.
- Advertorial features based around particular designers’ wares, or particular clothing styles
- Direct image-based advertising where images are used for click-throughs to advertisements for designers or budget alternatives, based on what the star is wearing
- Shopping-based features where star’s designer clothes are matched with alternatives which can be bought from budget clothing stores
- Red carpet round-ups of the hottest new fashions, or the best and worst dressed
- Articles about fashion trends or the relationships between particular designers and celebrities
- Items about stars getting sprung wearing identical outfits by the same designer, or recycling old clothing
How It Works
Our staff research the internet, and use their own fashion knowledge, to identify who is wearing what, producing a daily update from Sunday through Friday PST.
Rather than keyword every image, only the designer label information found is added to the appropriate images. Mostly these keywords are for red carpet events, although we strive to include as much fashion information as possible for candid shots also. As a rough guide, these updates would apply to a small proportion of candid images, and a significant number of A-list celebrities at major events. Updates include information on dresses, jackets, shoes, handbags, jewellery – anything where a designer label applies.
Depending on how much information found, we can add keywords for up to half a dozen items or more in any one image, but will keyword whenever we identify even a single item. Knowing what handbag a star is holding, or what dress she is wearing, can make all the difference to sales potential. We can also add designer label information to an existing archive. It is well worth the effort, as advertising art directors, fashion and picture editors often want to see images illustrating an aspect of fashion over an extended time period.
Designer label keywords can be added to images you send us, or using your own keywording software, whichever is more convenient. It can be a stand-alone service, or part of a full keywording package.
Value for Money
Due to the fact that designer label information covers only a proportion of celebrity images, you won’t be stuck with having to pay for every image coming through your servers. This can make worthwhile keywording far more affordable, with a guarantee that the keywords will be adding value to your images.
We can also include controls on the number of images keyworded in any one update, to give even better budgetary control. You may have 100 images of Angelina Jolie at the Oscars, but designer information doesn’t need to be added
to all of them. You decide on the appropriate number of images per update and we can pick out the best fashion examples within that number.
